Sake Tastings at Café Japengo
Sake, a 2,000-year old alcoholic beverage which traces its roots back to the
Buddhist Ceremony and Japanese Royal Family,
boasts a rich history and an extensive variety of tantalizing flavors.
To help decipher the complexities of its palatal language,
Café Japengo
is launching a monthly sake tasting series beginning
Thursday, June 7.
The tastings will begin at 5 p.m. on the outdoor patio of
Café Japengo.
The cost is $25 per person and includes: tastings of five different sakes; an opportunity to learn about the history, tasting notes, pairings and fun facts from one of the country’s top sake specialists, Kris Elliott from Young’s Market; and live entertainment.
Café Japengo is located at 8960 University Center Lane in the Aventine complex.
